Independent Activities for Students

While families are practicing social distancing at home, avoiding boredom is a special challenge, especially as we try to manage screen time (link).

I will use this blog entry to share fun activities that students can (mostly) do independently. I will update this page over time, so be sure to check back. The resources I'll share are from self-identified kid-friendly sources, but I recommend previewing material.

Scavenger hunts are so easy to customize, too! Once you’ve run through our list, you can make up your own ideas just by a little change in tactics. Scavenger hunts for kids don’t have to be complicated, they just have to be fun!

It's very easy to create a list of various items for students to find. You could have them find 5 things in the house that are each from different state. They could find 5 things that begin with the letter T and are each a different color. Etc.
